Angola


Following the first parliamentary elections in 16 years, an elected multi-party government took office in September 2008. The economy continues to do well, although rising inflation and rising international food prices have affected the country.

Concern’s work in Angola  

Active in the country since 1993, Concern Angola continues to assist poor farmers in the Palo Alto region to improve their food supply and generate income. Concern also focuses on education, training teachers, and HIV and AIDS initiatives. 

  • EDUCATION—Training 198 teachers and improving access to quality primary education
  • LIVELIHOODS—Improving access to food, income, and markets for 9,540 of the poorest families
  • HIV and AIDS—Reducing vulnerability and raising awareness among vulnerable communities
