Sarah Flosi


Sarah Flosi is an attorney and serves as co-founder and coordinator of the St. Clement Church/Our Lady of Mercy Legal Clinic in Albany Park. For the past nine years, Sarah has attended monthly clinics, interviewed clients, managed cases, and provided pro-bono legal assistance. Sarah works with 12 to 15 volunteers at the clinic and has helped morethan 1,000 people with their legal needs. She is an active member of the Human Concerns Commission and Social Justice Committee at St. Clement Church.

In addition, Sarah is a supporter of the St.Clement’s sister relationship with Iglesia 22 de Abril, a poor urban parish in SanSalvador, El Salvador. She acts as co-leader of delegations to the Central American parish, providing educational, financial and technical assistance, and learning about life in the community. When members of this parish travel to Chicago, shewelcomes them as guests. She is a long time member, volunteer, and currently serves on the steering committee of the Chicago Metropolitan SanctuaryAlliance, an organization that works to promote social justice in Latin America.

Sarah acts as a translator for medical missions to Bolivia with Solidarity Bridge, an organization that provides critical medical care, Fair Trade cooperative support, and education collaboration to the poor of Bolivia.She has made four trips to Bolivia to help children born with cleft palates.With regard to civic involvement, Sarah is a member of the Lakeview Action Coalition Taskforce on Affordable Housing (LAC), a non-profit, multi-issuecommunity organization that enables its members to act on their values in public life by participating in the decisions that shape the community’s future.

During the past five years, LAC has organized for the preservation and creation of affordable homes for more than 1,200 low and moderate income households.She volunteers with the Chicago Religious Leadership Network, an interfaith information and action network that mobilizes religious leaders and congregations in Illinois to advance peace, justice and human rights. Sarah previously worked as a Clinical Attorney with the Chicago-Kent Law Clinic and was an Investigator with the Office of the Inspector General of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Sarah holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
