New York Golf Tournament

tell a friend

The 2008 Concern Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, July 14th at Woodway Country Club in Darien, Connecticut. For the past four years, this event has made a tremendous difference in the lives of children born into poverty through no fault of their own. Approximately 113 million children—the majority of them girls—are not enrolled in school. Because of the generosity of the Concern golf event’s supporters, schools have been built in some of the poorest and most remote corners of our globe, and for the first time, children are in schools, enjoying the opportunity to learn to read and write.

The Tournament is an excellent golf day on one of the country’s finest courses, with beautiful scenery, top-notch links and fabulous food, all for an important cause. The event is not only relaxing and enjoyable, but also a bridge between those who care and those in need, and it will allow Concern to reach thousands of children who want an education.

We hope you will join us on July 14, 2008 for an unforgettable day on the green!

Last Year's Tournament
Last year's Golf Tournament provided funds to construct classrooms and supply books, desks, chairs, and teachers for more than 3,500 children who would otherwise have had none in Sudan and Kenya.

Concern would like to thank the many golfers and sponsors who made the 2007 event possible. In particular, we would like to acknowledge our corporate sponsor, Mutual of America, and our additional event sponsors: TIME, Carr Golf Travel, Aer Lingus, Nautica, The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group, The San Carlos Hotel and the New York Palace Hotel.

Thank you for giving children in Burundi access to basic education—one of the most vital resources of all in the fight against poverty.
