Presidents, Kings and Queens, Prime ministers and honoured guests...
Imagine receiving an invitation from the General Secretary of the United Nations asking YOU to address a meeting of world leaders on some of the biggest challenges facing our world today.
What would you say to them about global poverty, the environment, health, gender equality or education? What stories would you tell them, what facts would you present, what actions would you insist they take?
In the year 2000 world leaders made eight solemn promises to the developing world on a range of critical issues. These promises came to be known as the Millennium Development Goals and the date set for achieving them is 2015, just five short years away.
This year as part of the third annual Concern Creative Writing competition we are asking you to imagine yourself standing at the podium at the United Nations General Assembly and before a hushed and attentive audience you deliver a speech that could change the world.
Be as creative as you can, choose ONE of the eight Millennium Development Goals and send us your speech online at:
