Educator Field Visit
GCC offers an exciting opportunity for educators to visit one of Concern Worldwide's programs on the field to learn from experts on Water and Sanitation, Community Health, Violence Prevention, HIV and AIDS, and Education. The field visit allows educators to gain firsthand insight into some of the challenges faced in another country where poverty exists and to learn about Concern's role in helping to alleviate poverty. The purpose is to provide educators with firsthand experience on the field in order to share lessons learned on global poverty back into their school communities.
In 2008, two educators from New York went to Haiti to visit Concern's programs on the ground. Read about the Haiti field visit from one of our educators, Sinead Naughton-Robertson.
Check back later for details and application for the 2010 Educator Field Visit. All educators in the New York City area who have experience with the GCC program are encouraged to apply.
MDG Workshop Educator Handbook GCC offers educators a handbook on our student workshop on the Millennium Development Goals. The handbook introduces educators to an interactive and dynamic student simulation that teaches students about global poverty. Throughout the simulation, students work collaboratively to critically examine global challenges in seven countries and present innovative solutions to end global poverty by the year 2015.
