Concern Worldwide directs its resources towards people who live in extreme poverty, concentrating its longer-term development work on the world’s poorest and least developed countries as listed by the United Nations Human Development Report. While this involves a concentration of countries in Africa and Asia, Concern also engages in emergency response in any country in which a significant number of people do not have their basic needs met from local resources, thus creating the need for external assistance.
