This week, Cecial Adhikari, Concern’s Water and Sanitation Program Manager in Nepal, writes about progress in bringing the most basic element of life, water, to Jajarkot District of Nepal.

Working with a local partner called Nepal Water for Health, Concern is installing toilets, providing clean water and promoting hygiene awareness at school’s like Pashupati Primary School in Dashera village.

What does this mean? It means reducing the threats of illness and death from waterborne diseases, decreasing the time women and girls spend traveling long distances to retrieve water, and more time to spend pursuing education or earning income

Cecial challenges you to tweet this startling fact:

In Nepal 59% of schools have no toilets, one reason girls dropout. That's why @concern is providing toilets, clean water & hygiene awareness
