Building A Better Response Application

The Building a Better Response (BBR) project is offering a series of 3-day English language workshops to strengthen the capacity of NGO personnel engaging in the international humanitarian coordination system during complex emergencies. The aim of these workshops is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the international coordination system for large-scale emergencies and help participants identify where they can take action and engage directly within the system through a coordinated response. 

We are pleased to announce the call for applications for two regional Africa BBR workshops is open now through January 2, 2023.

The first workshop will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from February 14-16, 2023.  This English language training is free and open to mid-level humanitarian professionals working for non-governmental or community-based organizations based in Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Republic of Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Interested applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for the Kenya workshop should complete the application form linked here by January 2, 2023. The second workshop will be held in Freetown, Sierra Leone from February 21-23, 2023. This English language training is free and open to mid-level humanitarian professionals working for non-governmental or community-based organizations based in Cameroon, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone. Interested applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for the Sierra Leone workshop should complete the application form linked here by January 2, 2023. These workshops will enhance the knowledge gained from the Building a Better Response E-Learning Course (www.buildingabetterresponse.org), which participants are required to complete before attending the workshops. Through case studies, interactive activities, and group discussions, participants will gain a deeper understanding on topics such as humanitarian principles and standards, country-level leadership, and humanitarian programming cycle and financing.
