Republic of Sudan

2015 marked the twelfth year of conflict in Darfur where, tragically, violence and displacement still continue. In West Darfur, Concern is delivering programs in livelihoods, health, nutrition, clean water, and sanitation.

We are continuing to strengthen food security and livelihood programs, distributing relief supplies to over 2,000 households affected by floods, and organizing insect control campaigns to curb mosquito breeding.

Despite escalating violence, floods, poor harvests, and an influx of refugees — which left left 6.9 million people in need of assistance and over two million children malnourished — Concern has been able to make great strides in the country.

We’ve implemented a number of solutions, including strengthening the quality and focus of the programs where we currently operate in West Darfur and South Kordofan. We also expanded our projects into another state in Sudan and enhanced our national level of engagement and influence by continuing to focus on strengthening food security and livelihood programs, distributing relief supplies to over 2,000 households affected by floods, and organizing insect control campaigns to curb mosquito breeding.
