The Problem

With less than a decade away from the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger, the grim reality exists that the countries’ most vulnerable, countries where Concern Worldwide operates, will not even achieve low hunger levels by then.  According to the Global Hunger Index (Link): 

• 928 million people are facing severe food insecurity around the world. 
• 149.2 million children are currently stunted by hunger. 
• 1 in 3 people globally did not have access to adequate food during the COVID-19 pandemic. 
• 41 million people are teetering on the edge of famine right now.  

The Solution

No one should have to live in fear that they don’t have enough food to feed their children or don’t know when their next meal will be. Millions of people around the world face these exact challenges every day, and millions more continue to feel this affect due to the toxic mix of climate change, conflict and COVID-19.   

At Concern Worldwide, we work alongside the poorest communities in some of the hardest to reach and most fragile places on our planet. We listen carefully to the people there and work closely with them to help them find ways to build better, more secure, and prosperous futures.
