Winner of ABC’s “The Taste” and visiting executive chef at Bon Appétit magazine, Gabe Kennedy visited one of Port-au-Prince’s most dangerous slums to see for himself how people deal with the daily challenges of poverty.

Gabe Kennedy, winner of ABC’s “The Taste” and visiting executive chef at Bon Appétit magazine, has taken on the challenge to live on $1.50 a day for all food and drink this week in support of Concern and the Live Below the Line campaign.

He recently traveled with us to Haiti to see for himself how people deal with the daily challenges of poverty and what can be done to help. This is his journey through one of Port-au-Prince’s most dangerous slums, where he meets a group of young women for whom cooking could be the catalyst to break the cycle of poverty.
